New Bill Payment Portal- Invoice Cloud is Live!

On July 25, 2023, the City began partnering with Invoice Cloud, a third-party payment processor, to streamline the City’s billing processes and therefore providing more cost-effective and efficient as well as environmentally friendly billing and payment options. Invoice Cloud provides a portal that gives residents the ability to login and view their bill, usage history, and past bills but also pay using the following payment options:

• E-check

• Credit/debit cards

• PayPal, Apple Pay, Venmo and other mobile payment services

• Auto Pay

Additionally, residents can also sign up for text reminders when payment due date is nearing and opt for the environmentally friendly and cost-efficient option of paperless billing.

So what’s next?

If you’d like to use the online portal and Invoice Cloud services, please click here. If you already receive your bill electronically or have signed up to our direct debit billing, you do not need to sign up again for these services through Invoice Cloud.

If you don’t want to use the online portal and Invoice Cloud services: keep paying your bill like you always have- in person at City Hall, dropping your payment in the utility drop box, or mailing your payment in. If you do not sign up to the portal, your billing format and bill payment will remain the same.

Genoa celebrates 29 years as a Tree City USA

Friday, May 19, 2023, the City of Genoa planted a young State Street Maple in its newest woodland setting. Located along a crushed limestone path between the Kishwaukee riparian corridor and the ponds of Riverbend subdivision. Residents and Public Works employees were in attendance for the festivities and a proclamation was read by Mayor Brust, highlighting the benefits of trees including clean air, renewable resources, habitat for wildlife, and economic vitality through beautification.

Genoa celebrates 29 years as a Tree City USA and enters its 17th year receiving the Growth Award. In addition, Genoa is celebrating planting nearly 200 trees as a recipient of a reforestation grant funded by the Morton Arboretum, IDNR and USDA.

Genoa’s naturalized area is a great way to experience trees in a variety of settings along its forested, woodland, grove, and prairie trails.

Whenever possible support efforts to care for trees through local forestry programs. Trees gladden hearts and promote well-being of present and future generations.

The City of Genoa is thrilled to share drawings for a proposed Downtown Revitalization project and we hope our residents are equally excited!

This project would include replacing the downtown streetlighting with classic lamp post lighting, concealing overhead cabling beneath the edge of the sidewalk, adding stamped concrete brick crosswalks, upgrading benches, trashcans, planters and street signs, and commissioning wall murals and public art installments.
