Attendees of garage sales should wash or disinfect their hands after each garage sale they attend.”
The Public Works Department is asking that residents ensure that they do not have any open containers, toys, tires, etc. in their yards holding water to help reduce mosquito breeding. Here are some helpful tips for reducing mosquito breeding on your property:
1. Keep gutters clean and unclogged. Be sure your downspouts drain properly, without leaving puddles
in the drainage area.
2. Keep swimming pools cleaned and chlorinated, even when not in use.
3. Ornamental ponds should be aerated to keep water moving and discourage mosquitoes from laying eggs.
4. Dump anything that holds water twice per week if it has rained. Birdbaths, non-chlorinated wading pools, footbaths, garbage can lids, and pottery will all attract breeding mosquitoes. Remember to empty the saucers under your flower pots, and don’t leave water in pet bowls for more than two days.
5. Keep your property clean of items that can hold water, including discarded aluminum cans and tires.
We are receiving reports of multiple flooded roadways. The Public Works Department is out to help clear storm drains and address flooding.
Please do not attempt to drive through flooded roadways.
If you have a damaged parkway tree, please submit your address here.
