The City of Genoa currently has a vacancy on the Police and Fire Commission. This position is appointed by the Mayor and serves a 3-year term. For those interested, please submit a letter of interest to:

Requirements to be a Police and Fire Commission Member:

Resident of the City of Genoa
Attend a board meeting every 3 months
Responsible for establishing a recruitment/promotion list
Oversee police discipline

City Receives $10,000 Grant

The City of Genoa is excited to announce that we received a $10,000 grant from ComEd and Openlands as part of their Green Region Grant Program to make canoe launch and trail improvements to Citizens’ Park!

This grant will provide funding to pave the canoe launch access road as well as creating a paved path between the canoe launch road and the pedestrian path that leads to the bridge that extends over the Kishwaukee River.

The City of Genoa would like to thank ComEd and Openlands for their continued support to enhance the City of Genoa’s open lands and parks!
